Health Hazard Assessment and Prioritization
The document is the product of a workshop held by Los Angeles County Department of Public Health’s Emergency Preparedness and Response Division in June of 2017 that brought together Disability, Access and Functional Needs (D/AFN) specialists from Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, Seattle – King County, New York City, the State of California, and FEMA to discuss and share best practices for integrating D/AFN planning during disaster response operations. The document is a compilation of technical resources that “operationalize” the concepts of health equity and Disability, Access and Functional Needs planning in the Emergency Operations Center setting. The resource includes legal considerations, ICS Job Action Sheets, Medical Needs Shelter Trailer Inventory Lists, and many more tools that have been developed and tested during recent disaster incidents.
