Integration and Resource Unit
The Integration and Resource Unit provides strategic leadership to coordinate cross-departmental initiatives and strengthen the Department’s financial sustainability. The Unit advances mission-aligned goals by fostering collaboration across programs, managing complex initiatives, and supporting strategic resource planning and providing leadership with information needed for informed decision-making and long-term sustainability.
Specific activities and projects include:
- Assessing and analyzing systems, policies, and operational factors to develop and implement strategies that improve efficiency, alignment, and effectiveness in service delivery across Public Health programs.
- Tracking and analyzing funding from diverse sources to anticipate potential funding reductions and provide leadership with timely information to support strategic decision-making and departmental sustainability.
- Coordinating, developing, and implementing department-wide initiatives that are responsive to the needs and requests of diverse constituents and strengthen collaboration among programs, other government agencies, and community partners.
- Managing major investments in public health workforce development, infrastructure, and data systems to support integrated operations, emergency preparedness, and improved outcomes for under-resourced and disproportionately impacted communities.
- Providing support to sustain and expand the Department’s budget through existing and emerging funding and grant opportunities from federal, state, local, and philanthropic sources.
- Enhancing quality and productivity for the County by supporting the Department in securing and administering County-sponsored funding to advance innovative public health initiatives.
