About Recreational Waters Program
The Recreational Waters Program is responsible for compliance within Los Angeles County regarding review, inspection, and evaluation of a variety of swimming related sites. For example, Public Pool Plans are reviewed for compliance, field construction inspections are conducted at all stages of construction until a pool is complete. This program also Certifies Swimming Pool Service Technicians to service public and private pools in Los Angeles County. In addition, this program monitors the safety of ocean and fresh water swim areas. Public Notifications of Beach Warnings and Closures are posted on our webpage and accessible by calling the Beach Advisory and Closure Hotline.
