When public water systems are functioning properly and in compliance with applicable standards, there are no restrictions on the use of water for domestic purposes, and status is BLUE "No Restrictions on Use". If a public water system has sustained potential damage due to construction-related accidents, wildfires or other natural disasters, or if the water system is determined to be non-compliant with applicable standards, various water use restrictions may be imposed as indicated below. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has created this color-coded chart to help you identify whether various use restrictions have been imposed on your public water system.

This chart does not apply to private water wells. Homeowners are encouraged to have their private water wells tested prior to use.

There are no restrictions (Blue) on public water systems unless indicated below. *

	NO RESTRICTIONS ON WATER USAGE.
	WATER IS SAFE FOR CONSUMPTION IF BOILED for at least 1 minute. May use for drinking, cooking, dishwashing, or brushing teeth AFTER boiling. Do not need to boil for hand-washing, bathing, doing laundry, watering lawn/plants, or flushing toilet.
	DO NOT CONSUME WATER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Boiling is ineffective. Do NOT use for drinking, cooking, dishwashing, or brushing teeth. May use for hand-washing, bathing, doing laundry, watering lawn/ plants, or flushing toilet.
	DO NOT CONSUME OR HAVE BODILY CONTACT WITH WATER. Do NOT use for drinking, cooking, dishwashing, bathing, hand-washing, or brushing teeth. May use for watering lawn/plants, doing laundry, or flushing toilet.

* Restrictions have been imposed on the use of water from the following public water systems (Last updated 11/17/2009):

		USFS East Fork, Henninger Flats, USFS Chilao, Valhalla Water Association, Angeles Crest Ranger Station.
		Fire Camp 16 Mt Gleason, USFS Monte Christo, Mill Creek Summit, Daehan Christian, Hidden Springs Cafe, (Facilities Closed Until Further Notice)

As the restrictions are lifted, the water system above will be removed from the list. All public water systems are considered safe (BLUE) unless they are indicated above.
